About A.S. Ford

'The only writer to whom you should compare yourself is the writer you were yesterday'

- David Schlosser

A.S. Ford was born and raised in various locations across the Buckinghamshire county before moving to the Cotswolds in 2013 to attend the University of Gloucestershire where she graduated in Creative Writing.

Influenced at a young age by series read by her mother - such as: The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, The Worst Witch by Jill Murphy, and The Wishing Chair by Enid Blyton - A.S. Ford has been writing  stories since the age of five. Her love of history was born from episodes of Time Team, school trips, and museum outings with her family.

Later inspired by further series - such as: Bartimaeus by Jonathan Stroud, The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, The Lionness Quartet by Tamora Pierce, and The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi - A.S.Ford has had a number of short story and poetry publications. She is currently working on what she hopes to be her debut novel.

When A.S. Ford isn't writing, or working, she can be found dreaming of mythical creatures hiding in ordinary places, visiting historical sites across the UK, reading the many books hoarded around the house, and rocking pajamas!

She currently resides in a little town on the Wiltshire border with her fiancé and their two crazy cocker spaniels - affectionaly known as 'field clouds' due to the mud and water they like to bring into the home after a good walk.
